She looked at her “I don’t think that” she sighed “But no one thinks of me at all. That’s the problem. People are starting to say I drink and have sex fir attention. That I’m lost or something. D-do you think that?” she looked at the older girl with tears in her eyes “I don’t wanna be lost..”She looked at the girl “Why do you care anyway?” she sighed frustrated that she had been caught in her lie. “It’s not like you have to care about me..you have the perfect Thatch sibling already.” she mumbled under her breath “I’m just Kari, the youngest. Not the heir. Not the sensetive one. Just the slut.” she looked down. She nodded “I’m fine. Why wouldn’t I be fine?” she pulled away a little. Had Tavian told his girlfriend what they’ talked about? If he had he was in for it. She looked at Aeria “I’m just great” she smiled “Nothings wrong at al,” she gace her huge fake smileKari looked at the familiar girl and nodded wiping her tears “Yea I remember. Hi” she sighed hoping the girl hadn’t noticed how overwhelmed she was. She really hated being emotional. Tavian was usually the emotional one not her. She rarely cried.
Kari was walking around the palace still thinking about everything Eric and Tavian had both said to her. She knew she was lost now. She hated it but she had no idea who she was other than the younger Thatch girl. She hated that. She had to find something to set her…
Watching as the girl wiped at her face, Aeria knew something was up and could tell that Kari had been crying, “Hey…what’s the matter?” She looked around a bit and moved toward her, putting a hand on her arm, “Why were you crying? Did something happen?”
Aeria knew a lie when she saw one, using the same tricks before that Kari was using. She raised an eyebrow and retracted her hand, “Yeah…I’m so sure. You know, you really sound believable. If I were anyone but me, I’d probably buy into your facade.”
Aeria’s face softened and she felt bad for calling the girl out. She sighed and moved towards her a bit, “Tavian may be perfect, but I’m kinda biased, dontcha think?” She smiled a bit, trying to lighten the mood, but she was afraid it wasn’t exactly working, “And hey, I know how you feel. I’m the youngest of five kids, I’m not exactly ‘little miss perfect’ or anything. And I’m sure being ‘just Kari’ isn’t all that bad. Probably better than being just Aeria who everyone thinks has an eating disorder.”
